Running a business is not an easy task! It involves managing customer relations, employee training, inventory, payroll, taxes, shipping, ordering, product marketing, advertising, community connections, and more. As a business owner, you may find yourself being run by your business instead of the other way around if you don't set daily, weekly, and quarterly goals that stretch but not strain you. You didn't start a business to own a job, but a business. However, it can feel overwhelming, and you may envy those who can clock in and out after 8 hours. This is when you need a team to help you reach your business goals.
You may argue that you can't afford to hire anyone, but please allow me to suggest what will happen if you don't get part-time, temp, or full-time help. You will be forced to get busy "IN" your business rather than "ON" your business. You need time for creative thinking - what's the next step in your business? You will always be trading the urgent for the important, and leadership is not about getting more done, but the right things done. According to a recent survey, 94% of professionals in the US work over 50 hours a week, and 50% of them work over 60 hours a week.
Sometimes, you need the voice of a thinking partner, mentor, or professional coach to come alongside you when you are stuck. Who do you run to? Who will help you? Please listen carefully to the last two statements: If you want to grow your business, you must grow yourself and a team. What got you here won't get you there but instead will keep you where you don't want to be - stuck (and, stuck stinks). Give it some thought, but don't take too long because only you can make your business what you want. Remember, running a business is hard work, but with the right team, mindset,
and goals, you can achieve your dreams.
